My Story
Maybe you want to make your home a more gorgeous place to be? Or you’re feeling overwhelmed by a decorating project and aren’t sure where to start? Well I’m here to help.
My name is Sarah and I’m a qualified interior designer and natural born problem solver. I love working with clients to help transform their homes into beautiful spaces that are a joy to live in.
I’m passionate about colour - giving clients the confidence to take bolder, braver decisions to truly unlock the beauty of their home. And function - integrating practical solutions at the heart of the design process to compliment the way they live.
My passion for interior design began as a hobby, renovating three of my previous homes. When I started being asked to redesign my friends’ homes too, I realised interior design was the job for me. So I quit my career in advertising, moved to the Lake District - another love of mine - and retrained as an interior designer.
Now living in Kendal and fully qualified with The British Academy of Interior Design, I’ve launched Chez Baker*, offering homeowners in Cumbria and the North West the opportunity to bring joy to their homes.
Whether it’s finding a colour scheme that feels totally ‘you’, reconfiguring spaces to reveal their hidden potential, finding a design both you and your partner love, or fast-tracking the entire process due to being time-poor yourself, there’s nothing I enjoy more than getting to the root of what you’re looking for…then surprising you with a design that surpasses your expectations.
