Project Consultation
During this 2 hour consultation, I'll discover your design style, discuss how to incorporate anything you already own as well as a general chat on design and aesthetic likes / dislikes.
We'll discuss your focus areas, priorities and goals and I’ll answer any questions you might have.
This will be followed-up with a written report and all the valuable insights from our consultation will be worked into a moodboard.
A moodboard is a visual guide and is the first stage of the design process, acting as a segue between the initial brief and the first draft of the project. It determines the overall ‘mood’ or aesthetic that I’m evolving to provide you with a focus, confidence and to ensure we’re heading in the right direction. From this point, it helps to steer the project and priorities.
Deliverables:
Written report
Moodboard + 1 revision stage (additional revisions charged by the hour)

Layout, Planning and Sourcing
This service includes everything from the project consultation but takes a deeper dive to provide you with fully working designs of your room.
l will assess your room orientation to determine a suitable colour palette, and explore the best layout for your space by producing traffic flows that will enhance your room and its’ functionality.
Annotated floorplans and basic elevations will help you to convey precise ideas and design details to provide an understanding of the vertical views within your space, with specific height and design elements.
I’ll also produce curated sample boards for all flooring, wall and window treatments as well as soft furniture so you can see how everything will work together as well as feel the material in relation to the rest of the design.

“Sarah has given us the confidence and ambition to add more colour to our home”
★★★★★
“Sarah arrived absolutely laden with wallpaper, paint and fabric samples for our 2 hour colour consultation. She asked a number of questions to understand our likes and dislikes and the resulting mood board a few days later showed that she had listened to every word as it was all reflected there. I feel like I have a better grasp on how to use different colours, patterns and textures to create a space that really reflects us as a family. Sarah has given us the confidence and ambition to add more colour to our home”

An interior designer is trained to identify a client’s needs and desires to create a design and understand how to bring it to fruition. It can reduce the stress of home renovations, save you time and even help you avoid making costly mistakes by helping you to make the right decisions first time around. At Chez Baker, we understand how to create a liveable space that’s both practical and attractive. We’re trained to tease out what you might know you want, and translate that into a personal and cohesive scheme.
-
Working with Chez Baker, the process is enjoyable and stress free. As well as taking away those overwhelming decisions, you’ll save time by working with a professional that can pre-empt obstacles and produce a scheme that answers your brief with unexpected solutions. Whether you’re looking for a small space to be transformed or a full house renovation, all projects are equally as important to us.
-
All of our projects are a collaboration with our clients and you can be involved as much or as little as you want to be. During our initial consultation we’ll talk about your communication preferences and how involved you’d like to be. There are also key stages throughout the project where you can approve where we’re heading to ensure that you’re always 100% happy.
-
Prior to our meeting you will receive a client questionnaire which will need to be completed in advance of us meeting face-to-face. It covers topics such as why you like or dislike certain aspects of the room, functionality and aesthetics and what your project goals are. This questionnaire will then act as our agenda to talk through during our first meeting. We will build on your answers to gain a really in-depth understanding about how you live or want to live and it’s the first step in creating your joyful home. If you have an idea of the kind of style you like, you’re welcome to gather ideas using Pinterest, magazine cuttings or anything else you’ve spotted, but don’t worry if you’re not sure where to start, that’s why I’m here.
